What is the service life of the PD310 frequency converter?
The service life is determined by the operating conditions and compliance with periodic maintenance (TO). If you carry out TO on time and comply with the operating conditions (see Table 3.1 of the Operation Manual), then the frequency converter will last at least 10 years without any emergency situations.
What is the warranty period for PD310? What to do if the converter is out of order?
The warranty is 1 year from the date of shipment. In case of failure during the warranty period, it is strictly forbidden to open the case of the frequency converter yourself. PROMPOWER has a number of authorized service partners (see the PROMPOWER website), who will perform diagnostics and repair of the equipment in the shortest possible time. To contact the service, you must fill out the claim form in as much detail as possible (posted on the PROMPOWER website) and send a scan of it to the selected service center.
Does PD310 have input phase loss protection?
The PD310 has phase loss protection. It is enabled by default. The setting is made using parameter F9-14.
Does PD310 have an automatic parameter adjustment function?
PD310 supports 2 options for auto-tuning parameters: without rotation and with engine rotation. Tuning with rotation allows you to more accurately tune the control system for the motor used and is necessary when working in vector mode without a speed sensor. Tuning without rotation is performed when it is not possible to perform tuning with rotation, for example, when the motor is connected to a load.
Does the PD310 have short circuit protection on the motor?
There is protection against short circuit at the output of the frequency converter.
When braking, PD310 displays the error Err09 (Protection against increased voltage during braking). Why does it occur and how to remove it?
This error may occur in one of the following situations: the input voltage of the frequency converter is higher than the nominal value, the electric motor is in a braked state, the braking time is short. If the supply voltage is within the permissible limits, then most likely it is necessary to install a braking resistor or increase the braking time.
Is it possible to connect temperature sensors Pt100, Pt1000, KTY84 to the PD310 frequency converter?
Pt100, Pt1000, KTY84 can be connected to PD310 via the optional PD310IO1 I/O expansion board. The current motor temperature can be viewed in parameter U1-45.
What is the maximum ambient temperature for the PD310?
The ambient temperature should be -10~50?, the rated output current should be reduced by 1% for every 1? at 40~50?
What is the maximum allowable motor cable length for the PD310? What if my cable length is longer than the maximum allowed?
It can be roughly assumed that if the cable length does not exceed 60 m, then no additional devices need to be installed at the FC output. If the length is over 60 m, it is recommended to install a choke or sin-filter. More detailed information is in the operating manual, table 8-5.RTS thermistor
Is it necessary to carry out maintenance for frequency converters? How often and what does the frequency depend on?
It is recommended to perform regular maintenance every 3-4 months. If the frequency converter operates in adverse environmental conditions, operates with strong vibrations, in sea coast conditions or operates with derating, the maintenance frequency should be reduced to 2-3 months. For more information on maintenance, see Chapter 7 "Maintenance" of the operation manual.
Is it necessary to install fuses at the input of the frequency converter or is a circuit breaker sufficient?
To protect the FC from short circuits at the input, it is necessary to install fast-acting fuses (for semiconductor equipment). Automatic switches do not provide protection against short circuits.
When should a choke be installed at the FC input?
It is recommended to install a choke in the following cases: the drive power supply network has a capacity of more than 500 kVA or exceeds the drive power by 10 times; reactive power compensation devices or powerful semiconductor devices are installed in the drive power supply network; the voltage imbalance of the supply phases exceeds 3%; the power factor of the power supply network is less than 90%
Does PD310 have 4-20mA mode for analog signals? How to set it up correctly
Yes, PD310 can implement 4-20mA mode. To do this, you need to set the analog input to 0-20mA mode and set scaling for the minimum value of 4mA = 0% of the setpoint. Does the PD310 FC have a built-in EMC filter? What class is it?
There is a built-in EMC filter class C3 according to IEC 61800-3:2018 (at factory settings of PWM frequency and cable length up to 20 m)
How to choose a frequency converter correctly: by current or power? Is it necessary to consider the mechanism it will control?
It is most correct to select a converter based on the nominal current of the motor. There are cases when the motor current exceeds the "typical" values, and when selecting by power, the frequency converter will "go" into overload protection. In addition, it is important to consider the nature of the drive mechanism load. For example, for pump and crane drives of the same power, converters of different power are required. More details on this can be found in Chapter 2.4 of the Operation Manual
How to connect PTC sensor to PD310 frequency converter?
You can connect the PTC to one of the discrete inputs and set the value in parameters F05.00-F05.03 (Discrete input functions): 27 (External error (normally closed contact)). Then, when the PTC reaches the nominal response temperature, the drive will stop due to error Err21 (External error)
